Signs of a Good Tailor
The most important thing to look for when choosing a tailor is to find one who suits you (excuse the pun). A good tailor is one who understands his clients’ needs and wishes; knows what style the client is looking for; understands how his client wants to be portrayed. A good tailor is one you can communicate with – you need to be able to explain your wardrobe needs to your tailor and he will advise you then as to the best suit for you.
A sense of style is equally important in your tailor. The silhouette (or the ‘line’ as a tailor will refer to it) is the most important consideration. A good tailor should be able to outfit you whether you are aiming for quite a formal look or a more casual elegance.

Selected Menswear Brands
Louis Copeland & Sons also stock a selection of superior menswear brands like Brioni, Canali and Hugo Boss. These suits are what is often referred to as ‘off-the-rack’; quite literally because the client chooses a suit from the selection of suits available in store. Being a master tailor, of course we will carry out all alterations necessary to ensure a perfectly fitting suit at no extra charge.

Getting the most out of your suit
We are constantly looking at new ways to prolong the life of your suit and one idea we recommend is to purchase a second pair of trousers for your suit. Your suit trousers do a lot more work than your jacket will and need to be cleaned more often. This will increase the wear and tear and your suit pants will ultimately fade faster than your suit jacket.
Alternatively add a waistcoat to your purchase – this addition will make your suit even more versatile. A good suit, along with a classic shirt and tie is perfect formal attire. For the more casual Friday work look, the same suit with a more relaxed formal shirt and no tie is recommended. A waistcoat added to a formal shirt and tie is exactly what is needed for those more formal occasions, like dinner or evening event.
