Louis Copeland Sr
Boss
2nd Generation Copeland, carrying on the tradition
Louis grew up in the store, his father taught him the ways and he became a runner from a young age. He then passed on his knowledge to his kids, including Louis Jr who now runs the company.
John Byrne
Store Manager & Buyer, Senior Made to Measure Specialist
A lifetime in tailoring and a passion for fashion that hasn't faded.
John has been at Louis Copeland's Wicklow Street store since 1998, building expertise across made to measure, buying, store management, and personal styling over nearly three decades. He brings the same passion to the job now that he did when he started, and that comes through in how he works with clients. He creates looks that are original to each customer, drawing on his extensive knowledge of fabrics and tailoring. His attention to detail and genuine enthusiasm for the work are what his clients come back for.
Abu Sufyan
Master Tailor & Made to Measure Specialist
Over 25 years of bespoke tailoring, built on a family foundation in fabric.
Abu Sufyan has over 25 years of experience in bespoke tailoring and fashion design. He comes from a family with more than 70 years in the fabric industry, which gave him a thorough grounding in textiles and garment quality from an early age. He holds two degrees specialising in couture and tailoring, and in 2003 was named Designer of the Year on the Late Late Show and received a Gold Medal for excellence in fashion design. He has spent the past two decades at Wicklow Street working closely with Louis, building expertise across bespoke construction, couture craftsmanship, and made to measure. His focus is on garments that are fitted precisely and made to last.
Patrick Kearns
Made to Measure Specialist
Sharp eye for detail, strong appreciation for craft, and a made to measure range that surprises clients.
Paddy's approach to made to measure is rooted in clean lines, understated fabrics, and the kind of detail that elevates a garment without announcing itself. He has been at Capel Street since 2019 and has built a specialism in tailoring that sits between classic and contemporary, with a particular appreciation for craftsmanship and precise fit. One of the things he enjoys most is expanding what clients think made to measure can do. Beyond formal suits and formalwear, Paddy works on safari jackets, overshirts, and relaxed tailored pieces, bringing the same attention to finishing touches like AMF stitching and peak lapels to every commission. The result is clothing that feels personal, versatile, and right for the person wearing it.
Ed Lindsay
Made to Measure Specialist & Style Advisor
Soft Italian tailoring and a sharp eye for modern detail
Ed specialises in soft, unstructured Italian tailoring and has spent eight years at Wicklow Street developing an eye for the modern details that make a suit work on a real person. He is comfortable across occasions — graduations, weddings, everyday suiting — and brings the same focus to each. Getting to know the client is a big part of how he works. The right recommendation comes from understanding the person first: what they will feel comfortable in, what will suit their shape, and what they will actually reach for.
John Champion
Made to Measure & Formalwear Specialist
Classic tailoring with a modern sensibility. Clean lines, without sacrificing comfort.
John came to Louis Copeland Dundrum with a passion for menswear that has shaped everything he has learned about fabrics, construction, and suiting history. He works on made to measure and formalwear, and his approach is thorough: understand the client, understand the occasion, and build something they will feel genuinely proud of. He works across classic and contemporary tailoring with equal focus, and his preference is always for clean lines and sharp construction. Whether understated or bold, the standard of finish is the same.
Saied Khoshdel
Made to Measure Specialist & Style Advisor
Helping men build a wardrobe that works for them, whatever the occasion.
Saied's focus is on helping men dress in a way that feels natural to them. He works across made to measure tailoring, formalwear, and smart casual, and puts equal weight on comfort and fit regardless of the occasion. He takes a collaborative approach and keeps the process simple. His clients leave with clothing that is versatile, well-fitted, and built around their lifestyle rather than a single event.
John O'Donoghue
Made to Measure Expert & Style Advisor
40 years in menswear, and a genuine belief that the right fit changes everything.
John has worked in three of Ireland's best independent menswear retailers over a 40-year career, and he will tell you he has loved every year of it. At Capel Street, where he has been for the past 21 years alongside Louis Sr, his approach is straightforward: listen to what the client needs and find what fits them best. He works across made to measure, formalwear, casualwear, legal wear, and communion outfitting. The brief changes; the standard of service does not.
